In March 2025, we proudly completed a full remodel of our facility, and we’re thrilled to share the exciting updates with you.

We Rock the Spectrum – Tarzana has been modernized from the ground up. Fresh paint, updated flooring, new lighting, and sleek design elements have given the gym a clean and contemporary look. But make no mistake—while the aesthetics have evolved, the heart of what we do remains the same.

Every child, regardless of ability, deserves a place to thrive. That’s why we made it a priority to maintain all of our standardized occupational therapy equipment, including our beloved zip slider, a fan favorite that continues to bring joy to countless children. This essential equipment defines us as a sensory gym that serves both neurotypical children and those with autism, ADHD, sensory processing disorder, and other developmental differences.

Introducing Purposeful Play Zones

1. Arts and Crafts Area

One of the most exciting additions to the remodel is the newly designated Arts and Crafts area. With dedicated tables, organized supply stations, and calming visuals, this area is a haven for creative expression. Children can paint, draw, cut, glue, and build in a structured yet open-ended environment. This zone was designed with sensory integration in mind. The textures, colors, and tools were chosen to stimulate fine motor skills and imaginative thinking, while also offering a calming effect for kids who benefit from quieter, focused activities.

2. Imagination Stations

We believe in the power of pretend play. The new Imagination Stations feature themed play areas that rotate regularly. From a mini grocery store and kitchen setup to a firefighter’s station or doctor’s office, these stations foster social interaction, problem-solving, and empathy. Pretend play is especially valuable for children with special needs. It helps them practice real-world scenarios in a safe and supportive environment. These stations are also designed to be inclusive, ensuring all children can participate regardless of their abilities.

3. Infant & Toddler Area

We didn’t forget about our littlest rockers. The updated Infant & Toddler Area now includes soft mats, padded climbers, and a sensory wall tailored specifically for early development. This area is age-appropriate, safe, and visually soothing. The importance of early sensory play cannot be overstated. For babies and toddlers, this area encourages gross and fine motor development, balance, and early social skills in a sensory-friendly setting.

A New Welcome Experience: Check-In & Lobby Enhancements

1. Redesigned Check-In Area

Efficiency and ease are the hallmarks of our new check-in experience. We’ve added digital kiosks for faster registration, a more intuitive sign-in process, and a streamlined flow that reduces wait times during busy hours. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a long-time member, our new check-in process makes it simple to get your kids into the gym and having fun without delay.

2. Expanded Parent Lounge

We know that parents need a break too. The new parent lounge is more than just a waiting area—it’s a comfortable space with cozy seating, work stations, free Wi-Fi, and a coffee station. This space lets you relax or catch up on emails while staying within arm’s reach of your children.

Creating a space where caregivers can recharge is just another way we uphold our mission of inclusion and support for the whole family.

The Core of Who We Are: Kid’s Gym Standards Maintained

Even with all the updates, we stayed true to the foundational elements that make We Rock the Spectrum Tarzana a leader in the indoor playground franchise world. Every remodel decision was made with our sensory gym roots in mind. We retained all our signature equipment, including: The beloved zip slider, crash pits, trampoline, climbing mountain, and swings designed for children with autism and sensory challenges. These features aren’t just fun—they’re therapeutic. They support occupational therapy goals like proprioceptive input, vestibular balance, and fine and gross motor skills. That’s why they are an essential part of our DNA as a sensory gym.
